Oh man. I have the hardest time with these sorts of things, but I’ll give it a whirl.
I’m 26 and married to an equally avid food-o-phile, which is convenient since at least one of us is usually in the mood to cook something nicer and more nutritionally sound than a frozen pizza (one of our favorite Lazy Foods, sadly). We enjoy drinking and cooking at the same time, often to the detriment of the next morning’s dishpile. There are purposefully no kids around these parts, but there are two awfully needy dogs, only one of which I can fully claim as my own.
I’m a lifelong meat disliker and a nine year vegetarian, but I still drool over osso buco, Cornish game hens, ahi tacos, and pretty much everything else you can watch somebody fancy up on the Food Network. I don’t claim to actually know anything about food or cooking, but I do know what works in my own kitchen and with my own palate.
I blog because I spend most of my day thinking about, talking about, looking at, making, photographing, and eating food; because I can never make anything twice unless I document it somewhere; because I love photography and I because really love food photography; because my friends and family are always asking me for recipes; and because I occasionally get the crazy idea in my head that I might have something semi-original to share.
When I’m not stuffing my face or ogling food I’d never actually put in my mouth, I annoy my friends by taking their pictures and their poker money, often at the same time. I’m the queen of capslock, although I’ll try and restrain myself here. I love Costco and the Asian market down the street in equal amounts. I currently geek out over such perfection as The Wire, Eugene Hutz of Gogol Bordello, 30 Rock, Cormac McCarthy, The Big Lebowski, The Mars Volta, Arrested Development, Edward Abbey, Tideland, Flight of the Conchords, Chuck Klosterman, and Deadwood. In my eyes, a perfectly proportioned gin and tonic is one of the best things in the entire world. I take one-way streets whenever possible.

Current Food Obsessions: leeks, marinated artichoke hearts, grilled grapefruit margaritas, mojito cupcakes, cumin, chickpeas, grilled endives with parmesan and black pepper, chocolate-dipped macaroons, toasted pine nuts, rosemary, chili garlic Cholula, roasted red peppers, overripe bananas, sun-dried tomatoes, extra-large udon noodles, and anything with coconut
Favorite Food Smells: rosemary, kaffir lime leaves, cloves, oven-roasted tomatoes, Thai basil, mint, thyme
Most Likely To Eat For Lunch: last night’s leftovers + a spinach salad
Favorite TV Chef: Mario Batali, Jamie Oliver, Ina Garten
